”I felt more understood as an actor because I got to witness the magic of people coming together and exploring one passion.  Before this experience I didn’t know whether I wanted to pursue acting or if it was just something I like to do.  After City Lights, I found out it was both.  I used to tell my friends I never believed in fairytales, but after City Lights, you do feel magical.”

- Fabian Perez,
2004-2005 scholarship student

City Lights Youth Theatre is Proud to Announce a new way to get Involved in Supporting Arts and Education for New York City Youth!

What is it?:
City Lights Associates Circle is a group of young, working professionals who pledge to support City Lights by volunteering their time and resources to help us meet our goals. Currently, we are working to further develop our PR for programs and productions, and increase our in-kind donations.  Our Associates Circle will serve as a Fundraising and Volunteering Board, helping City Lights to maintain its status as one of New York’s leading non-profit arts and education institutions.

What do I have to do?:
Get Involved! Volunteer some of your expertise! Whether you stop by to help fold newsletters on your lunch break, secure speakers for our panels, or advise City Lights on ways to improve our website, we encourage your input and participation. City Lights will be sending out Associates Circle eNewsletters to keep you informed of our current projects and financial goals. Each month we will include our City Light’s Wish List . . .be sure to see if you can help and become a City Lights Star.

What’s Coming Up?:
City Lights encourages our Associates to purchase tickets to our 17th Annual Spring Benefit, to be held on April 2nd  at the Tavern on the Green, honoring Whitney Tilson. This is a great opportunity to meet other City Lights Supporters and to learn more about what we do. The evening will feature a performance from the Broadway musical Forbidden Broadway, and the City Lights students.
We are also eager to hear your thoughts on this new Committee. Have a great idea that would help City Lights? Let us know!

What Can I Look Forward to in the Future?:

  • Events designed to remind you of City Light’s current projects while giving you valuable opportunities to network with other Associates and Board Members.
  • Season Tickets to City Lights Productions
  • Volunteer Opportunities
    • Festival Promotion
    • Set & Prop Design and Construction
    • Costume Design and Construction
    • Box Office Assistance
