“If it wasn’t for the scholarship program I would not have been able to bring my children to City Lights.  I am a single mom and there are so many bad things going on in the world out there so it is important that we have a program like this for our children.  We need to keep them busy in a safe environment like City Lights.  My daughter Michelle discovered so many things in the program.  She discovered a love for music.  She now loves to sing. She wakes up singing and goes to bed singing.  She gets so excited about performing in the shows. I will be very happy as long as the program continues.”

Core Program - Financial Aid

Spring 2008

Full and partial scholarships are available. Financial aid is awarded according to demonstrated need, and on an individual basis. First-time recipients and their guardians must arrange for an interview. Returning students must reapply for financial aid each semester. Students enrolling in Fairytale Mondays are NOT eligible for financial aid.

For a financial aid application, please call (212) 262-0200 or download the form (and Financial Aid Renewal Form if you were in the Origins Project 2007).

Please read the following policies and procedures:

  • A non-refundable $25.00 scholarship registration fee per child per class must be submitted in order to hold each child's place while your application is under review. Your application will not be processed until we receive this payment. Please make your check or money order payable to City Lights Youth Theatre.

  • Only complete applications will be processed. You must complete all sections of the application, include proper financial documentation, and remit the $25 scholarship registration fee.

  • Students must re-apply for financial aid each semester. Assistance is awarded on a per-semester basis. Because financial situations change, we ask that you do take the time to complete a new application each semester. We also reserve the right to consider students' past attendance records and commitment to the program.

  • New applicants must arrange an interview. Once a completed application has been received, the program coordinator will call to arrange an interview with both the child and a parent/guardian.

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION BY January 14, 2008.
