FACE FOUNDRIÉ is now open in Plaza in the Park at 5152 Buffalo Speedway. Founder and CEO Michele Henry opened FACE FOUNDRIÉ in 2019 with walk-in service accommodations for an array of beauty and facial services, including lash extensions and facial waxing. She was determined to build the bridge to accessible and approachable skin care, per the website. Houstonians can select from a variety of results-driven 20- or 40-minute facials with the ability to customize with enhancements like facial cupping, collagen eye mask, jelly mask and more. Heyday
Houstonian Tina Karnani and her husband are introducing Heyday to the Bayou City within the next year. She signed a five-unit agreement and plans to bring the personalized facial and skin-care brand to Meyerland, Highland Village, Rice Village, River Oaks and Memorial City.
Karnani and her husband, Haru, grew up in Mumbai, India, and immigrated to the United States to pursue higher education and their career goals, both becoming successful consultants at Deloitte & Touche and Accenture’s Financial Services Technology. When Karnani wanted to pursue business ownership, the duo began looking into the child-care industry as they have two children themselves. Now that their second Kids R’ Kids location is opening, the Karnanis decided that it was time to diversify their portfolio, which is how they discovered Heyday, the personalized skin-care brand with locations in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City and Philadelphia.
Heyday’s mission is to change the way people think about skin care and wellness by taking the facial out of the spa and making it more affordable and accessible to the masses. It achieves this through its membership-based model, enabling members to make facials a part of their everyday wellness routine rather than just a once-in-awhile indulgence. Its focus on personalized skin care and educating individual members on how to care for their unique skin sets the brand apart in the $7 billion facial services industry.

A leading destination for medical grade aesthetic skin, face and body care opened its second location in the greater Houston area July 19. The new clinic is in LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch, Katy’s premier shopping destination.

The Salt Suite
The nation’s only salt therapy franchise aims to bring 20 locations to Houston by the end of 2022. Since its founding in 2011, the Salt Suite claims to have helped alleviate symptoms of allergies, respiratory and skin problems. There is little scientific evidence on the benefits other than it might be a relaxing spa treatment. Through halotherapy, a machine called a halogenerator grinds pharmaceutical-grade dry salt into micro-sized particles.

The latest addition to M-K-T Heights, a repurposed mixed-use development, the Skin Clinic offers natural injectables and effective skin-care products. The Spa at the Post Oak Hotel
Houston’s first Yon-Ka Paris spa treatments are exclusively available at the Forbes five-star Post Oak Hotel Spa. The Yon-Ka treatments and rituals were custom-created for Tilman Fertitta’s award-winning, premiere hotel.
Select various scents such as lavender, jasmine, mandarin orange and cedar in A Voyage of the Senses massage. In the Bamboo Fusion massage, experts use bamboo sticks and specialized techniques to sculpt and relieve sore muscles while toning, slimming and rebalancing the body. For intense relaxation and well-being, a blend of tiara, jasmine oils and warm stones are used in conjunction with microcirculation techniques in the Polynesian Stone massage. The massages range from $230 for 60 minutes to $360 for 90 minutes.
Couples wanting to indulge in a luxurious and romantic massage can look to the Warm Tiaga Couples Ritual, priced at $800 per couple. The Tiaga Massage candle turns to soft, warm, velvety massage oil when heated. Following the gentle exfoliation, the warm, melted wax oil is dripped onto the body and massaged into the skin, offering a hydrating, nourishing and silky finish to the body.
The Detox Bamboo Ritual is an invigorating escape that includes a powerful exfoliation followed by a specialized bamboo massage technique for tonifying, smoothing and detoxing. The Tox
Lymphatic drainage massages are all the rage lately. They’re not new to the wellness industry, but they have quickly become a favorite for detoxing and moving fluid out of the tissues and into lymph nodes. Per the company’s website, The Tox Technique is a unique blend of body work that works directly with the lymphatic and digestive systems to detoxify the body and mind.
Located at BLVD Place, 1700 Post Oak Blvd., Suite 2-150, The Tox Uptown Houston incorporates various body techniques that increase metabolic rate, rid the body of toxins and cleanse the colon. The treatments also flush water retention.
Tulum Wellness
The newly opened med spa, located at the Stomping Grounds at Garden Oaks, 1223 W. 34th St., Suite A-600, was designed to “focus on beauty, health and wellness from the inside and out.” Tulum Wellness features personalized wellness in three areas: functional wellness, med spa and spa. Services include various facials and massages, IV therapy and injectables.
The Tulum Boutique is coming soon and will offer an assortment of home goods, clothing, jewelry, accessories, and bath, body and facial products for men, women and children.
With the opening, Tulum Wellness is offering a variety of specials through August.
Ugo Beauty and Artistry
Charlotte, N.C.-based luxury wellness spa Ugo Beauty and Artistry has opened its first temporary location in Houston at 8323 Southwest Freeway, Suite 605. A permanent location is expected to open in late fall 2022. Specializing in makeup artistry, luxurious skin care, hair removal and more beauty-enhancing services, Ugo also includes a hookah bar.
Houstonians can receive 20% off the initial appointment through August.
VIP Recovery Care
Dr. Stacy Sam, Ph.D., RN, MSN, MPH, an 18-year veteran registered nurse and college professor who specializes in women’s health and plastic surgery recovery, launched VIP Recovery Care in early 2022 to address the lack of specialized recovery options available to patients undergoing cosmetic and plastic surgery in Houston. The budding luxury surgical aftercare service launched its second penthouse recovery suite to accommodate a rapidly growing number of plastic surgery patients.
Dr. Sam credits the rapid growth to the appeal of having a lovely, tranquil retreat, away from home, where patients can get the best possible postoperative medical and comfort care, and the utmost in luxury and amenities in their own private suite while they heal.
Located in Greater Houston Heights, the second VIP Recovery suite is a luxury penthouse apartment large enough to accommodate patients traveling with a companion or family member. Houstonians and visitors can receive 24-hour nursing care, luxury transportation, organic meals, full in-suite custom-stocked kitchens, and postoperative care coordination with surgeons and aftercare specialists. Additionally, spa amenities such as therapeutic massages, manicures, pedicures and hair care are available.
Westlake Dermatology
Westlake Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, a private physician-owned practice with 17 locations statewide, opened its second Houston location in River Oaks at 3636 Westheimer Road. Houstonians can receive medical dermatology care and aesthetic procedures from Dr. Cameron Erickson, a plastic surgeon, and Dr. Neil Farnsworth, a board-certified dermatologist. Expect top-tier procedures like medical dermatology care, plastic surgery, skin rejuvenation and aesthetics.
The 2,700-square-foot facility was designed by the award-winning Michael Hsu Office of Architecture (MHOA). In a statement, Austin-based architect Michael Hsu says he aimed to maintain the integrity of the 1970s-era building while keeping the mid-century bones and refreshing the space inspired by Mediterranean vernacular. Guests will find Westlake’s signature palette of natural materials, including plaster, white oak, terrazzo, marble, leather and brass. Hsu said the materials blend beautifully to provide a soothing and spa-like atmosphere for patients and staff.
