Zimmermann’s Cruise 26 Collection

In Twisted Romance, Zimmermann charts a course through nostalgia, femininity, and escapist reverie, recasting pirate folklore through the opulent, soft-focus lens of New Romanticism. The Cruise 26 collection is a study in tension: diaphanous silks meet structured denim; corsetry softens into fluid drapery; romance flirts with rebellion.

Drawing on the visual language of vintage adventure tales and maritime mythologies, garments unfurl like illustrated pages, complete with cartographic prints, sea-creature motifs, and shell-like silhouettes. But this is no costume drama. Volume and flourish are grounded in movement, ease, and wearability.

Dramatic sleeves, boned bodices, rose-strewn waistbands, and sculptural collars evoke theatricality, tempered by muted tailoring, utilitarian cargos, and directional denim. It invites wearers to embrace fantasy and dress as an act of self-authorship.

On May 31, 2025, Chanel unveiled its newest boutique in the heart of Sydney, marking a major milestone for the House in Australia. Located in a newly redeveloped landmark building on Market Street, this two-floor space was designed by long-time collaborator Peter Marino, blending Parisian refinement with bold modernity. The boutique offers expansive salons for Ready-to-Wear, handbags, shoes, and a dedicated Watches & Fine Jewellery space with its own entrance.

Inspired by the architectural codes of Chanel, Marino’s design features elegant contrasts, from sleek black walls to reflective surfaces and luxurious materials like woven silk and wool. A curated selection of both classic and contemporary art enriches the space, including works by local artist Judy Watson Napangardi and Scottish artist Alastair Gordon.

In addition to a wide array of iconic pieces, the boutique showcases exclusive collections, including the 2024/25 Métiers d’art collection and CHANEL’s first dedicated Watches & Fine Jewellery space in Australia.

The Dior and Lewis Hamilton Capsule Collection

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has teamed up again with Dior to design a bold, performance-driven lifestyle capsule that blends sportswear with high fashion.

Inspired by his travels across Africa, Hamilton’s vision of Afro-Futurism shaped the collection, reflecting the intersection of culture, identity, and self-expression. Drawing on the energy of motorsport and the craftsmanship of French savoir-faire, the capsule embraces a mix of sartorial elegance, casual comfort, and technical innovation.

The collection features a unique range of silhouettes, from oversized jackets to sleek, tailored pieces. Key items include reversible hooded jackets in leopard tweed and plain canvas, alongside contemporary track suits crafted from laser-etched reflective materials.

Footwear is equally striking, with washed velvet derbies and silver-gradient B44 sneakers, while accessories mix functionality with playful extravagance, incorporating climbing rope details. Sustainability is at the heart of the collection, with the use of recycled materials throughout.
