Four women, including a female security guard, are alleged to have been sexually assaulted by a man in a mall on Sunday. A suspect has been charged and currently remains in custody.

Just before 1 p.m., on Sunday, May 15, 2022, a man working as a driver for a personal delivery company entered a store within CF Chinook Centre to reportedly pick up an order.  As he walked through the store, he reportedly sexually assaulted a woman and then approached two employees at a makeup counter. After a short interaction with the employees, the man committed an indecent act while sexually harassing the employees. The man was asked to leave the store.

After leaving the store, a female security guard was approached and asked to show him where the parkade was. Once in a secluded spot, the man allegedly sexually assaulted the security guard who then removed herself from his proximity and radioed for assistance. Additional security arrived and took the man into custody.

Salah Eddine LAIFA, 28, is charged with four counts of sexual assault and remains in custody pending his next court appearance on Tuesday, May 17, 2022.
