The world’s largest shopping centre by leasable area spans an astonishing 21 million square feet in total leasable area across seven floors. The huge centre features a traditional bazaar, lush gardens, a grand library, an 18-story hotel, a theme park, a massive cinema complex, a musical water fountain, and even an ice rink. Officially opened in 2019 after construction began in 2012, this multi-level mega complex is far more than just a commercial space. The shopping centre is located in Tehran, the Iranian capital.
On one hand, it offers state-of-the-art attractions such as Iran’s most advanced IMAX cinema complex, a sprawling indoor theme park, and a luxury 18-story hotel tower. It also has an expansive traditional bazaar, featuring handcrafted goods, local textiles, and artisanal products.
The Iran Mall also has beautifully landscaped Persian-style gardens like the Didar and Mahan Gardens, several grand mosques, and architectural elements inspired by historic Iranian design featuring ornate domes, colourful mosaic tilework, intricate tapestries, and traditional vaulted ceilings that reflect centuries of craftsmanship and artistry.
Visitors can also explore the Jondishapour Library, which houses tens of thousands of rare books and manuscripts across three floors, or marvel at the breathtaking Mirror Hall, adorned with over 38 million mirror pieces that create a dazzling visual experience.
Not only is the shopping centre home to hundreds of stores and restaurants, but it also holds a wealth of entertainment with a 12-hall cinema complex with an attached café, as well as art galleries, on-site museums, and a 2,000-seat theater.
Iran Mall offers extensive sports and wellness facilities, including an Olympic-size ice rink, squash courts, spa and pool complexes, a health club, a 16-lane bowling alley, a rooftop sports arena, and a 1.6-kilometre wellness track.
