Popular women’s clothing store Anthropologie is scheduled to open in Montgomery Village later this year, its pending arrival noted by a sign in its storefront.
“We’re excited to welcome Anthropologie and Beach by Everything but Water to The Village,” said Kris Miller, the general manager at Montgomery Village, referring to the swimsuit apparel store that’s also coming. “This will be the first Sonoma County location for both brands, so we’re delighted to continue bringing new and exciting offerings to our community.”
Anthropologie will occupy the former spot filled by Talbots, which closed suddenly last month.
Anthropologie launched in Wayne, Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia, in 1992. With 200 locations, it has a store in Napa and Corte Madera, according to its website.
Its parent company URBN also owns Free People and FP Movement, which opened a location in Montgomery Village in January.
URBN did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The sign in the window said to look for a Fall 2025 opening. Other places to shop and eat that are also due to open this year include fast-causal restaurant Mendocino Farms, which a mall spokesperson said is scheduled to open in mid-May.
In addition to Mendocino Farms, Portland-based ice cream shop Salt & Straw and Blue Bottle Coffee will be setting up business at the mall.
Swimwear company Everything but Water will open its store, Beach by Everything but Water, next to U.S. Bank, according to a sign in its storefront.
“We are thrilled to offer our beautiful assortment of swimwear and resortwear to the vibrant community of Santa Rosa,” a spokesperson said in an email to The Press Democrat.
Meantime, construction continues on the site of the former Cattlemens restaurant.
The spokesperson for the shopping center confirmed that five businesses, previously announced, will occupy that spot.
Those include taproom Fieldwork Brewing, cupcake bakery Sprinkles, fitness studio Club Pilates, facial spa FACE FOUNDRIÉ and luxury makeup company Bluemercury.
On the other side of The Village, Sephora is expected to open where construction in front of Crepevine is underway. Athleticwear brand Vuori would be nearby, and Rise Cycle Co. is also currently under construction.
Earlier this year, the mall also announced the upcoming arrival of salads and grain bowls restaurant Sweetgreens, but an exact location and opening date has not been announced.
