Drama Book Shop Will Host CD Signing Event for Real Women Have Curves Musical
The new musical, recipient of two 2025 Tony nominations, concluded its Broadway run June 29.

Real Women Have Curves: The Musical may have closed on Broadway, but its story lives on in the cast album. Manhattan’s Drama Book Shop will host a CD signing event for the musical’s original Broadway cast recording.
The event, set for July 31 at 3 PM at the West 39th Street book store, will feature members of the show’s cast, including Tatianna Córdoba, Florencia Cuenca, Aline Mayagoitia, and Mauricio Mendoza, in addition to Tony-nominated songwriter Benjamin Velez.

Ghostlight Records will release the new recording on CD July 25. The CD features a 28-page booklet with complete lyrics, color production photography and more. The album, currently available on streaming and digital platforms, was produced by Julio Reyes Copello.
Real Women Have Curves closed on Broadway June 29, following
31 previews and 73 regular performances. The musical officially opened
April 27 at the James Earl Jones Theatre.
The musical was helmed by Sergio Trujillo, who directed and choreographed. With a score by 2025 Tony nominees Joy Huerta and Velez and a book by Lisa Loomer
with Nell Benjamin, the work follows a first-generation child of
Mexican immigrants, Ana (Tatianna Córdoba), who is torn between joining
the family garment business or embarking on her own dream.
2025 Tony nominee Justina Machado played Carmen Garcia, Ana’s hardworking mother who imagines a
traditional life for her daughter. Córdoba and Machado were supported by
Florencia Cuenca as Estela, Ana’s older sister, and Shelby Acosta as
Prima Flaca, Carla Jimenez as Pancha, Aline Mayagoitia as Itzel, Mason
Reeves (Frozen) as Henry, Jennifer Sánchez as Rosalí, Sandra
Valls as Prima Fulvia, and Mauricio Mendoza as Raúl Garcia.
The company also included Ariana Burks, Quincy Hampton, Zeus Mendoza,
Claudia Mulet, Christopher M. Ramirez, Monica Tulia Ramirez, Shadia
Fairuz, Elisa Galindez, and Omar Madden.
The production featured music supervision by Nadia DiGiallonardo,
music direction by Roberto Sinha, scenic design by Arnulfo Maldonado,
costume design by Wilberth Gonzalez and Paloma Young, lighting design by
Natasha Katz, sound design by John Shivers, video design by Hana S.
Kim, hair, wig, and make-up design by Krystal Balleza, and
orchestrations by DiGiallonardo, Huerta, Rich Mercurio, and Velez.
Casting was by X Casting’s Victor Vazquez and ARC’s Duncan Stewart.
Tripp Phillips served as production stage manager, with B.J. Holt as general manager and Alecia Parker as executive producer.
