When is the best time to get holiday shopping done at The Gardens Mall and Downtown Palm Beach Gardens?

Now that the holiday season is in full swing, shoppers in Palm Beach Gardens are making their rounds at two neighboring retail centers: The Gardens Mall and Downtown Palm Beach Gardens.

The Gardens Mall is a two-story, 1.4-million-square foot high-end indoor mall. It is decorated with fountains, skylights and sculptures and has more than 150 shops and restaurants, anchored by Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s.

Downtown Palm Beach Gardens has an open-air mall setting with boutique shops, swing chairs and palm tree-lined walkways with tropical greenery, as well as a few name retailers, such as REI and Whole Foods.

What are the holiday hours at The Gardens Mall, Downtown Palm Beach Gardens?

This weekend, The Gardens Mall’s hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 20 and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 21.

They’ll return to 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Dec. 22 and 23 and then shorten to 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 24. The mall is closed on Christmas Day.

Weekday and Saturday hours return to 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Dec. 26, shortening to 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 28 and again to 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

Macy’s, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue have their own holiday hours. 

Most retailers at Downtown Palm Beach Gardens have their own hours, but the typical timeframe is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays, a spokesperson said. 

What are upcoming holiday events at The Gardens Mall, Downtown Palm Beach Gardens?

Visitors at The Gardens Mall can take photos with Santa during mall hours until Dec. 24, a spokesperson said. Santa’s stilt-walking elves will be at the mall from 1 to 4 p.m. weekends.

A kids-only shopping zone is on the upper level of the mall’s grand court until Dec. 24. The mall also has a Salvation Army angel tree until Dec. 17 on the lower level of the mall’s east wing, where people can donate to help an underprivileged child in Palm Beach County. 

See’s Candies, a candy and chocolate shop, opened a seasonal retail shop with Christmas and Hanukkah gifts at The Gardens Mall on the second floor near Bloomingdale’s.

Upcoming performances at the mall include St. Mark’s School musical show at 3 p.m. Dec. 17 and North Palm Beach Youth Symphony’s show at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 19. Both performances will be at the mall’s Nordstrom court. 

Downtown Palm Beach Gardens will show the movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” at an outdoor holiday movie night event at 7 p.m. Dec. 19.

The Gardens Mall and Downtown Palm Beach Gardens typically get the most foot traffic on Saturdays. If you are looking for a less crowded weekend shopping excursion, Sunday afternoon might be your best bet.

What new stores are open at The Gardens Mall, Downtown Palm Beach Gardens?

Gorjana, a jewelry store; Venchi, a gelato and chocolate shop; and Tecovas, a western apparel store, all recently opened at The Gardens Mall.

J. Crew Factory and Van Leeuwen Ice Cream opened at Downtown Palm Beach Gardens in recent months.
